Root Canal Treatment Process
The root canal treatment process at the Q+P Dental Clinic consists of several stages:
- Initial Evaluation: Our endodontist will conduct a thorough evaluation of your dental condition, using 3D panoramic X-rays and other diagnostic tools to determine the extent of the damage to the dental pulp.
- Local Anesthesia: Before the procedure, local anesthesia will be administered to ensure your comfort during treatment. The area around the tooth being treated will be numbed to minimize any discomfort.
- Access to the root canal: A small opening will be made in the tooth to access the root canals and the dental pulp. This will allow for proper cleaning and disinfection.
- Removal of Infected Pulp: The endodontist will use specialized instruments to remove the infected or damaged dental pulp. The root canals will be thoroughly cleaned to remove any debris or bacteria.
- Root Canal Filling: After cleaning and disinfecting the root canals, they will be filled with a biocompatible material. This will seal the canals and prevent reinfection.
- Tooth Restoration: After completing root canal treatment, the tooth will be restored. In some cases, it may be necessary to place a dental crown to strengthen and protect the treated tooth.
- Follow-up and Aftercare: Our dental team will provide you with detailed instructions on how to care for your tooth after root canal treatment. This may include practicing good oral hygiene, avoiding hard or sticky foods, and scheduling regular visits to monitor the health of the treated tooth.
